The Board Chair's Guide to Zoom Meetings - Tim Harrington

July Blog - LCUL Pivot Event - And a TEASER!

The Board Chair's Guide to Zoom Meetings, LCUL Pivot Event and a Teaser!

The Board Chair's Guide to Zoom Meetings

Let me guess ... your board meeting has gone digital and virtual, right? Lucky guess or what?!

Credit Union Board Chairs - Let's talk about that move to virtual.

Let's talk about what that means for you and how things need to change.
Let's be clear. This move is not like moving to a different meeting room while your board room gets painted. This isn't a simple change of physical space. The meetings will need to be managed differently and more carefully.

Who's up for a quiz?!
How well do you know the financials at your CU?

Directors, Volunteers, Marketers ... I'm looking at you!
(CFOs just sit this one out and don't be cocky!)

Directors: remember that regulation 701.4 says that you should:
"have at least a working familiarity with basic finance and accounting practices, including the ability to read and understand the Federal credit union's balance sheet and income statement and to ask, as appropriate, substantive questions of management and the internal and external auditors..."

Who's ready to PI-VOT?!

Thanks to the Louisiana Credit Union League for inviting Kevin Smith present at their new event in August. Since it's virtual it's not just for LA folks either. CU fans of Friends and beyond should check it out. The video here gives you a teaser about one of his sessions. (BTW - he says he's one of those people who like anchovies. You'll have to watch to find out the reference.)
