The National Firefighter Registry (NFR) is now open. The NFR will be used to track and analyze cancer trends and risk factors among the U.S. fire service.

To all,
The National Firefighter Registry website is now active. Please take time to click the below link to learn about it and how every firefighter-every firefighter - should be made aware of and participate in this important project.
To better understand the link between on-the-job exposure to toxicants and cancer, Congress directed the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) to create the National Firefighter Registry (NFR). The NFR will be used to track and analyze cancer trends and risk factors among the U.S. fire service to help the public safety community, researchers, scientists and medical professionals find better ways to protect those who protect our communities and environment.

All Firefighters-structural and wildland, career and volunteer, active and retired-should participate in the NFR. This includes Firefighters who have never received a cancer diagnosis, previously had cancer, or currently have cancer.

Participation in the NFR is voluntary HOWEVER by providing vital information about their own health and work experiences, Firefighters who register for the NFR will play a critical role in helping to better understand the health risks our profession faces.

Don't send your members down the street!

Does the following scenario occur at your credit union? If it does, we have a solution for you!

A member comes in into your credit union and wants to know if you will loan them a couple of hundred thousand $$$ to buy a building, or can you loan him some seed money to start a new business or purchase equipment for the company they currently own, and you say, “the credit union doesn't do those kinds of loans”.

Does this sound familiar? How many times do you and your staff literally tell a member to “go down the street or go somewhere else”

Well, now, you have another option.  CU First Responders Finance (CUFR)

CU First Responders Finance, LLC (CUFR) is a partnership between the National Council of Firefighter Credit Unions, Inc. (NCOFCU), and Biz Lending & Insurance Center, Inc. to provide business lending origination programs to NCOFCU member credit unions.
  • CUFR will provide you with a turnkey operation so you can provide commercial and member business loans to your members.
Please, join us for a brief webinar with Q&A on how CUFR works and what it will do for you and your members.
