WEST PALM BEACH, Fla.—The $306-million Guardians Credit Union has turned management of its ATM fleet over to Dolphin Debit.
The credit union has four ATMs at branches and 10 at various select employee group sites.
The decision was a big move for Guardians, which had always managed its own ATM fleet, the CU stated.
“Dolphin stood out because of their experience, reliability, and the fact that they could truly take the burden off our staff,” said Chief Financial Officer Minire Syla. “Their ability to manage everything seamlessly, combined with the marketing opportunities on ATM screens, made them the best choice for us.”
The credit union said it had a number of key priorities for the move, and Syla explained that while reducing the burden on staff, compliance, and cost savings were all important, what was paramount was providing “the best possible experience for our members.”
“The convenience and reliability of our ATMs are crucial and outsourcing to Dolphin helps us make sure we’re meeting those expectations while also taking pressure off our internal teams,” she added.
Since outsourcing management of the ATMs, Guardians has enjoyed less downtime and faster resolution of any issues. Staff is spending much less time on any ATM-related tasks. Also, the upgraded and more reliable ATMs are making transactions smoother for members, the CU said.
Going forward, Syla said that as the credit union continues to evaluate new ways to improve member access and service, ITMs – interactive teller machines – are something worth considering.
“ATMs remain a critical part of how we serve our members,” Syla noted. “They provide easy access to cash, deposits, and account services, especially in SEG locations. Plus, with the ability to use our ATMs for targeted promotions, they’re a direct channel for us to connect with members and offer them valuable services.”
“Guardians Credit Union definitely knew what they wanted for their ATM fleet and what they expected from their migration to outsourced management,” said Joe Woods, senior vice president of marketing and partnerships for Dolphin Debit. “We are delighted to be able to meet those expectations and help them deliver top-tier member service.”
